FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
DOES CREPES DE LUXE CAFE ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS?
Of course! We accept all major United States credit cards. WHAT IS AIOLI? Aioli, in its most basic form, is a garlic mayonnaise. Our aioli is made fresh in the cafe, and our own special blend of spices is added to make our one-of-a-kind recipe. Aioli accompanies many of our savory crêpes. |
CAN I MAKE A RESERVATION AT YOUR CAFE?
Absolutely! We would appreciate reservations for six or more guests, or for those who would want to ensure a table during our busiest times of the year (Saturdays during football season, Valentines Day, ect). Reservations can be made via telephone at (319) 887-2233 or via email through the "Contact Me" section of our website. |
WHERE CAN I FIND A LIST OF YOUR SPECIALS AND MENU UPDATES?
We as a cafe are always editing our menu, adding and subtracting recipes to keep your dining experience different and new. Menu additions and subtractions can be found on this website, but the best place to find our daily deals is our Facebook page. Simply click the link on the bottom of this page and you're there! |
WHAT ABOUT CATERING AND PARTIES?
We can do both! We have experience catering both parties in our cafe and parties in other locations. We have catered to book clubs, birthdays, sorority parties, and one couple was even daring enough to want 500 crêpes, made-to-order, in-lieu of a wedding cake! We will accommodate parties of all shapes and sizes. We can also accommodate wine parties with a small corking fee. Please email us through our "Contact Me" section with as many details as possible to get the ball rolling on your one-of-a-kind party experience! |
HAVEN'T I SEEN YOU GUYS BEFORE?
Ha, the chances are pretty good! Our head chef, Hicham Chehouani, was working throughout Iowa City making crêpes and Moroccan kebab for five years prior to opening the cafe in December of 2009. Since our opening, we have also traveled throughout Iowa, headlining at the International Food Festival in Des Moines in 2009 and 2010, as well as the Iowa City Arts Festival and Jazz Festival in 2010. Our ability to travel is made possible by curious customers such as yourself who want to experience these French delicacies in both Iowa City and abroad. And for that, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. |
I HAVE FOOD ALLERGIES; WHAT ACCOMMODATIONS CAN YOU MAKE AS A RESTAURANT?
We get this question almost daily. As for our recipes, eggs are vital to the crêpe making process and cannot be substituted with any other ingredient. As for allergies to chocolate, peanut butter, or strawberries, we can easily deep-clean and sanitize all tools used in the crêpe making process to ensure you will have no problems while visiting our restaurant. It gets a little trickier for people requiring a gluten-free diet. Our buckwheat is considered "mostly gluten-free" by our supplier just outside of Newton Laurel, Iowa. It is prepared as the first batch of the day, and although their equipment is thoroughly cleaned between regular flour and gluten-free buckwheat batches, they cannot ensure a 100% gluten-free product. Completely gluten-free crêpes can be made, however, with a reservation and a talk with our head chef. Please make all reservations with at least 1 hour notice for a gluten-free dining experience by phone. |
